Scribd, the giant digital library and ebook/audiobook subscription service, wants to add a Customer Support Agent to its team. Scribd has more than 80M active readers and is growing, so it makes sense they’d be adding to the outfit.

You’ll be working a 40-hr. week on a flexible schedule. And you can work from “wherever you can get a signal.” In other words, California, Alaska, Hawaii and 47 other states!

The Job & Requirements

Besides a high school diploma and strong communication skills (you’ll be doing a lot of writing, using Zendesk), you should have a flair for tech support, too. “On a typical day you might be called on for a simple password reset, complex publishing advice, or to QA a new website functionality, debug a customer’s problem, and interface with Scribd’s engineering team,” Scribd says.

You’ll need a solid understanding of customer support, and work experience as well, ideally in a customer support role.

You’ll also get bonus points for any of these:

    • Experience working in an online customer service role
    • Experience working remotely
    • Startup experience
    • Basic programming skills or website QA experience

Pay for the job isn’t given. But for a rough yardstick, Tech Support Agents at Scribd report an average of $12/hr.
