In a nutshell, Mutual of Omaha has openings for Remote Full-Time Customer Care Analysts. The pay rate is $19/hr. No state hiring restrictions or college requirement mentioned.

Mutual of Omaha — the name always raises warm memories of my family’s Sunday night ritual of gathering around the TV to watch Marlin Perkins on “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom.” Most of us (I was one of six kids) would lay on the floor — covered in zig-zag patterned afghans my grandmother crocheted. In the winter, our feet were up on the hearth of the fireplace my dad built from field stone found on our property. Daddy and Mommy had the couch and chuckled over how “Jim” had to do all of the hard work while Marlin got all the glory.

Alas, I digress!

As I learned later, Mutual of Omaha is actually a Fortune 500 insurance and financial services company based in Nebraska.

Training classes begin in early December.

Their benefits package includes: Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, 401(k), Tuition Reimbursement, and more.

Here’s what the company has to say about the openings:

What makes the Mutual of Omaha a GREAT fit for you? When you join our Policyowner Services department, you’ll be part of a high-performing team where your work has a positive impact on peoples’ lives. How do we accomplish it all? By hiring and retaining associates who are capable in handling any situation with confidence and grace.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Customer Care Analyst (CCA) at Mutual of Omaha you are in charge of solving customers’ problems and helping them get back to enjoying their lives as quickly and effortlessly as possible. You are empowered to provide customers with peace of mind that their current issue is resolved and that none are on the horizon.

Successful CCAs deliver an effortless customer experience by:

  • Taking the lead – our reps take ownership of customers’ issues, relieving customers’ stress while guiding them to a quick and easy resolution.
  • Identifying future problems – not only do our reps solve the current customer concern but they actively identify and solve any lurking complications the customer may encounter after their first interaction.
  • Lending a listening ear – many of our customers call at a time or crisis or after an unfortunate event, and sometimes our reps just need to be there to listen.
  • Sharing insights with peers and management – our positive team culture relies on open communication to continuously improve how our work gets done.
  • Having fun! – our work is important, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We love helping others and have a fun community dedicated to doing so!

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

At Mutual of Omaha, we value our employees as much as our customers. No two customers, problems, or resolution journeys are the same. Sometimes you won’t know the right answer, but we’re looking for someone who is always up for the challenge.

Our Customer Care Analysts are the kind of people who enjoy staying busy and are up to the challenge of back to back calls. They enjoy solving problems and take charge in situations where others feel lost. If you are a multi-tasking master and enjoy digging in and doing research, then we bet you have the right stuff!

We’re looking for people best described as…

  • A flexible communicator with the ability to listen and pivot based on customer requests

  • A planner, multi-tasker and expert problem solver
  • Outspoken, with a “can-do” attitude and infectious positivity
  • Ability to quickly pick up and navigate multiple software systems
  • A customer service pro… insurance or financial services knowledge is an added bonus!

We recognize that people come with diverse experience and talent beyond just the requirements of the job. Diversity of experience and skills combined with passion is a key to innovation and excellence. If your experience is relevant to what you see listed, please consider applying – we’d love to hear from you!
