Lots of people want to work from home without using the phone. Chat jobs are a good solution. Here are three open right now.
“Advocates” – Needle hires Advocates to chat with online shoppers at retail websites and help them find products. Reportedly pays $1 per chat (chat times vary per customer), plus performance points you can redeem for products. You can set your own schedule, but workflow varies. Customer Service Specialists – Live Chat – Site5, a 100% remote web-hosting company with about 120 people working from home around the world, is recruiting Live Chat Specialists to help customers with website hosting issues. (The job description also says “some phone” is involved, though employee reviews suggest it’s mostly or all chat.) A feel for tech will definitely help you in this job.
Requirements include experience using cPanel and WHM. cPanel is a control panel that lets you maintain a website. WHM stands for WebHost Manager. It lets web hosts manage their servers. You can try demos of cPanel and WHM for free here. Hours for the job are 10AM – 6PM EST Monday through Friday. Live Chat Support Agents – Arise hires work from home Agents to provide live chat support. The role is described here. Arise hires Agents as independent business owners (for example, you form your own LLC and contract with Arise to provide chat or other customer support services), or you can work for a company already in the Arise network.
