UPDATE 6:56 PM ET — This job was open when we posted, but has “expired” now. Jobs like this don’t usually stay open long. We’ll keep posting, so stay tuned — and apply ASAP when you see one you like! ~ Mike

If you care about children and the safety of their online experiences, WildWorks, a partner of the National Geographic Society, is looking for Moderators for children’s games like Animal Jam. No experience necessary, training provided.

Animal Jam has over 55 million registered players, per Wikipedia.

Pay isn’t mentioned, though Glassdoor reports $12-$13/hr. You’ll be checking chats and other player content to make sure it doesn’t violate community guidelines.

WildWorks and the National Geographic Society collaborated to create Animal Jam. Children learn about animals and nature while playing in a make-believe country called Jamaa. WildWorks is a Utah-based company that designs social, mobile and online games.

“We are looking for game moderators who are committed to providing safe online experiences for kids,” the company says.

Requirements include a love of kids, an eye for spotting something inappropriate, basic computer skills, and a willingness to make thoughtful decisions.
