Extra-Cash Gigs – Target-Owned Shipt Hiring Grocery Shoppers
Here’s another “get paid to shop for groceries” gig, much like Instacart. Shipt, which is owned by Target, pays up to $25/hr. for people to shop for groceries and deliver them locally in their own car. (If you don’t feel like doing the shopping and just want to deliver food, UberEats is hiring people for local restaurant deliveries. Any car will do.)
What’s the Deal?
Companies like Shipt, Instacart, UberEats, Amazon (who’s hiring Amazon Flex non-pro drivers), Postmates (also hiring non-pro drivers), and others fill a growing demand. More and more people are time-starved — or physically they can’t get out to shop — and others are simply getting used to ordering things for delivery. With companies like Shipt, you get paid to buy and drop off the goods. With others there’s no shopping, just delivery, as with UberEats and Amazon Flex.
Shipt is also attractive to many consumers because it offers unlimited deliveries for $99/yr.
In Shipt’s words:
— 18 y/o minimum
— Reliable vehicle, 15 years old or newer
— iPhone (iOS 8 or newer) or Android (4.4.2 or newer)
— Valid U.S. driver’s license and auto insurance
— Thorough background check required
— Insulated cooler bag
— Knowledge of produce selection
— Ability to lift 25+ pounds
In Shipt’s words,
“To check if Shipt is in your area, go to shipt.com, scroll down to the bottom of the page (you will see a ‘More time, less stress’ sign), and enter your zip code in the box. If we are in your area, this checker will tell you! If not, you can input your email to sign up for launch alerts. We will email you when we being preparation to come to your area.” (If your location isn’t included, be sure to check UberEats, Instacart, Amazon Flex and Postmates for more options. You’ll also find other hiring companies here.)
Pay ranges from $15 to $25/hr., Shipt says. Overall income depends on how active you are. Some Shipters have done over 20 shops per day, per this Shipt video, which is serious cash – and serious shopping! But you don’t have to shop that often; it’s up to you.
