If you’re looking for a convenient way to make money on the side, these online side hustles will help. (Our list includes some screened affiliate links, which help us keep the computers running. Rest assured, we wouldn’t post them if we hadn’t checked them out. Thanks!)
Field Agent tasks usually pay $1-$12 each, says the company. A typical job might be going to a local store, taking a pic of a product, and answering questions about its price or placement. The app also offers paid consumer surveys. Payment is by direct deposit or Dwolla.
Earn $3 per survey (15-20 mins., typically). This is one of our top survey site picks. They may also send you free products to test. They’re looking for people who fit any of the following: 18-24 years old or anyone male or anyone Hispanic or anyone Asian. Their minimum age for surveys is 18.
“Get rewarded for your creativity. You’ll always keep control of your copyright and be able to choose which photos you submit for selling. It’s as simple as that. Save time by batch uploading via your desktop, allowing our web uploader to automatically keyword your images and put them up for sale.” Keep 50% of the sales price.
The gigs for “Gigwalkers” pay $3 to $100, says Gigwalk. From user reviews it looks like most gigs range from $4-$20, though that may depend on your location. A gig could be taking a product pic at a local store, or making sure that a marketing event is done on time. We didn’t see any recent mentions of $100 gigs (though that doesn’t mean they aren’t available). Payment is by PayPal.
Take short polls and surveys at Toluna. Pays in points redeemable for PayPal cash or checks, or (if you prefer) gift cards for Amazon, Walmart, Target and other major brands. Daily sweepstakes and other ways to earn are included. Not for core income, but can help with bills or frills.
Like Gigwalk and Field Agent, gigs may involve “audits” (checking an item in a store), scavenger hunts (finding a specific product in a local store), or taking a photo of a storefront. Users report gigs averaging $2-$5 with time commitments of 10-20 minutes, though it depends on location. And as with Gigwalk and Field Agent, you’ll want to maximize your return by already being in the car when you take a gig. Payment by PayPal.
Aspiration is an FDIC-insured online bank that pays cash back on all debit card purchases. It also pays up to 2% APY on savings, with no ATM fees at any ATM. No monthly fees required. $10 minimum opening deposit.
If you’re looking for a side gig that pays up to $20/hr., Education First is actively hiring. Teach English to Chinese children online. Set your own hours, materials provided. Bachelor’s required. Must have TEFL certification by start of contract. For an advantage, schedule your video interview (and nail it) promptly after you apply. The video interview is key.
Get paid for taking surveys. Pays up to $5 cash per survey. Also pays $2 per successful referral. Pays in points redeemable for PayPal cash (as mentioned in their “Terms and Conditions”). If you prefer, you can be paid in Visa cards or Amazon gift cards.
