Work from Home Chat Job
If you don’t want a phone-based job but you can type quickly and accurately, this work from home job could be a fit.
We’ve mentioned The Chat Shop in the past, and are posting again as the company continues to advertise openings and so many people are looking for chat gigs.
This is a UK-based company, but you can work from the US. No state hiring restrictions are mentioned, but RR Rebels from CA, NY, NJ and OR have reported being ineligible.
Pay
Employee reviews report pay of $9-$10/hr. Since this is on the low side, you may want to view the job as a way to get experience with chat, customer service, and working from home. (Employers are increasingly looking for work from home experience, often noting it as a preference in their job listings.)

You’ll learn valuable skills and fascinating knowledge about businesses and industries you’ve not come across before. You’ll learn how to drive a conversation from enquiry through to sale and turn unhappy customers into ecstatic customers.
The role
Every chat is unique. We provide you with the training, knowledge and tools but it’s up to you to add your personality. You’ll be working as part of one of our teams representing a selection of our customers. You might be concurrently selling investment property, providing customer support for a leading British video on demand service while also discussing which ski holiday a customer might like to go on. It’s varied, interesting and surprisingly complex.

We realised to continue to work with the best team we could find we needed to look further afield than commuting distance from our HQ in West London. As long as you have a distraction free workspace, reliable internet and are a native English speaker you can still be and feel a big part of the team.
