Direct Interactions Recruiting Manager reached out to let us know that they have an IMMEDIATE NEED for 700 work from home Customer Service Reps to help handle incoming calls from people contacting the state unemployment office.

As you can imagine, states are experiencing record numbers of applications for benefits and Direct Interactions is partnering with existing contact centers to help handle the volume.


Status: Employee
Duration: “Until people in the state no longer need unemployment benefits or it slows down, which could be a year or more.”
Pay: $12.00 or your state minimum, if higher

About the Position

This role is handling incoming calls from people contacting the State unemployment office. All states are experiencing record numbers of applications for benefits and we’re partnering with existing contact centers to help handle the volume. This role will continue until people in the State no longer need unemployment benefits, which could be a year or more.

We are currently experiencing a very high number of calls. This means you’ll be on the phone most of the time during your shifts. We have a wellness program (15 minute video) led by a personal trainer to help you recover and relax during breaks. We offer flexible scheduling and do not require 40 hours weeks because this work is tiring. Ideal applicants want to work between 30 and 40 hours / week.


  • Excellent verbal communication skills including accurate grammar and pronunciation
  • Ability remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced contact center environment
  • Ability to show empathy for the frustration and anxiety of people in need
  • Ability to use a computer quickly and accurately
  • All people start as Tier One staff and must pass a criminal background check
  • Tier Two staff must pass a second identity check to comply with State requirements for data safety
  • Legally able to work in the USA and located here

Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour – $13.50 per hour depending on experience and how many hours you work.

Shifts are available 7 days a week

Up to 40 hours per week available
