Customer support agents

As they get more complete and diverse, video games also tend to become more complex and gamers need help managing various issues. This is exactly the customer support agent’s role. They are the link between gamers and developers. They interact with gamers regarding all the inquiries they have about the game and assist developers by forwarding important information to them regarding ongoing issues.

What they do:

  • Answer gamers’ questions and inquiries about the games
  • Provide live chat or email support
  • Report incidents to developers

What is needed to become a Customer Support Agent?

  • Excellent linguistics skills
  • Good gaming experience
  • Be patient, attentive and positive
  • Be able to strictly follow company policies and procedures

Community Manager

Online communities are very dynamic and can, at times, become confusing. This is what community managers are for: they gather and direct all this energy and enthusiasm to animate a game and its community. They rally gamers together and ensure their interactions are interesting and respectful. Most of their job is done live on different networks. They work with the developers to be aware of upcoming modifications to the game. They are the link between the brand and the community.

What they do:

  • Moderate forums (protect communities against all nuisances and prejudicial attitudes while keeping them united and motivated).
  • Interact with communities on different channels and networks
  • Recruit and manage volunteers within the community
  • Create and manage events
  • Create bonds between the service and its users

What is needed to become a Community Manager?

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent linguistics skills
  • Good gaming experience
  • Good knowledge of the local culture and expressions
  • Knowledge of how to manage and minimize conflicts

Phone support agent

The telephone was invented long before the Internet and is still preferred by some people. It does not mean they are archaic, but that they prefer to hear someone’s instructions instead of reading them. This is what motivates phone support agents: real human contact. Using a variety of phone software, phone support agents provide friendly and efficient support to customers. They identify issues by gathering information from customers and escalate new ones to the developers.

What they do:

  • Answer clients’ questions and inquiries (Inbound/Outbound calls)
  • Report issues to the developers

What is needed to become a Phone support agent?

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (enthusiastic and polite)
  • Excellent linguistics skills
  • Good knowledge of the local culture and expressions
  • Be able to maintain a pleasant and businesslike tone in every situation
  • Be patient, attentive and positive

They also have openings for: Administration Staff, Localization Agents, Sales Reps, Social Media Managers and Web/Graphic Designers.
