“Actively Hiring” — Seasonal Non-College Jobs at Jackson Hewitt — If you’re looking for something seasonal — “phone and/or chat” — Jackson Hewitt, the large tax-preparation firm, reached out to say they’re actively hiring for three work from home roles. There are multiple openings in each, the company says: Client Care Reps, Customer Service Reps, Operations Support Reps. Pay and schedules aren’t known, but we’ll update here if we hear more.
Remote Admissions/Associate Advisor – Entry Level – University of MD: “An earned Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and one (1) year of relevant work experience in a customer-facing role. Candidates must possess excellent customer service, time management, creative problem solving, interpersonal, oral and written communications, and presentation skills…”
Take Surveys for Extra Cash – Pinecone Research: Got a HS diploma/GED or didn’t complete HS? Pinecone needs you. Earn $3 per survey (15-20 mins., typically). They may also send you free products to test. Minimum age for surveys is 18. We’ve never seen them seek this category of applicants before. Not sure how long it will last, so apply or share quickly if interested.
Work from Home P/T Transcriptionists/Editors – No Exp. Required – 3PlayMedia: Nationwide. Pays up to $30/hr., the company says. Pick the projects you want to work on. You’ll need speedy fingers, though — 75 WPM required.
Work at Home Bilingual French/English Phone/Video Interpreter – LanguageLine Solutions: “Fluency in French and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics. Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences…”
Nursing for RNs – Online Instructor – University of MD: “Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher learning required. Doctoral degree preferred. Must hold an active, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland or a Multi-State compact registered nursing license. Professional experience as a Registered Nurse..”
Digital Librarian – Young President’s Organization: “The Digital Librarian will develop the overall DAM organization system and metadata/tagging framework. Expertise in Canto and Box platforms as well as 2-3 years of experience related to the responsibilities listed. Acts as primary liaison between YPO and various vendors/agencies/freelancers with regard to image names, new photography and archiving; Collaborate with and understand the end user to develop best practices for the DAM platform; Responsible for assigning appropriate metadata for assets to ensure accurate usage rights; Manages the Digital Asset system and facilitates the uploading of assets as well as maintaining and upgrading the system.”

Work from Home Customer Service & Inbound Sales Reps – VIPdesk Connect: VIPdesk Connect is recruiting for their HomeAdvisor account. Hiring from AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, NV, NM, NJ, NC, OH, TN, TX, UT, VA and WI. Apply or share quickly if interested — “paid online training begins Nov. 19th.” Per the company, pays up to $16+/hr. (hourly rate, plus incentives).
Get Paid Up to $50 to Download Nielsen’s App – Nielsen (The TV/Radio ratings company) – “For each mobile device you register you will receive up to $50 a year,” the company says. For consumer trend data, Nielsen will pay you to install an undetectable app on your smartphone, computer or tablet. The app follows your web use. Your name is separated from the data, and devices run as usual. User IDs and passwords are not collected, the company adds.

Make Up to $500/Wk. Tutoring at Course Hero — Hiring nationwide. Answer questions online. Essentially, the company is looking for people with expertise. If you’re claiming expertise in an area where a college degree would be expected — science, for example — then you’ll need one. Your credentials are key. “We believe that experts take all forms and therefore do not require that you be a certified tutor or professor. However, you do need to share sufficient credentials to prove that you have an expertise in the categories which you would like to tutor,” the company says.
Get Paid for Quick Tasks Using Your Phone – EasyShift: Do things like take a pic of a product in a store, or check prices or a promotion. Most tasks pay $2-$5, though some can pay up to $20, feedback says. Most payments sent 48 hours after approval, via PayPal, the company says.
