GMR Transcription is a well-established and very reputable company. They were founded in 2004 and have transcribed more than 4 million minutes of audio!
The company is getting great reviews on Glassdoor (4.8 out of 5 stars) with current transcriptionists saying things like, “If you can type pretty quickly and have good attention to detail, then working with GMR is an excellent way to earn extra income.”
Currently, the company is seeking both English transcribers and Spanish Transcription/Translators.
They state, “Transcription of a variety of topics including academic, legal, business, and more. You can create your own schedule and pick and choose how much work you take from us. No experience necessary.”

How much work can I take?
We ask that our typists accept at least 4 hours worth of audio each month. We do have a lot of work to offer, so if you are willing to take the work, we have a lot to give out. We let you know what work is available and the details (pay rate, due date, etc.) and you let us know if you would like to take it.
Do I have to have experience or be certified?
We do not require any experience, but because we guarantee our clients 98% accuracy, we have a very strict grading policy. We find that most people passing our tests have years of experience or have been certified in general transcription.
Is there a probation period for new typists?
Yes, all new typists must complete 2 hours worth of audio before receiving paid work. During this probation period, we will be carefully proofreading your work to ensure that your transcripts are up to our standards.
Pay: According to posts made by the company, “Our pay rates range from $0.70 to $1.25+ per audio minute. We post details of available assignments (pay rate, due date, etc.) and you can pick and choose which assignments you’d like to take. Paydays are every other Friday and are extremely reliable through direct deposit or paper check (you choose). We have been working with IC transcriptionists for over 10 years and pride ourselves in our reliable pay, constant communication, and valued relationships we have with our team.”
