What Your Day Will Look Like (Non-Phone Work)
In this role, you will accurately post payments, adjustments, and denials from EOBs and ERAs to patient accounts. You’ll identify and retrieve remittance information from various payer portals and ensure timely posting of all payments. Additionally, you will manage ERA gaps and resolve posting errors to maintain accurate claims reconciliation.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Post Payments: Accurately post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts
- Retrieve Remittances: Locate and retrieve remittance information from payer-specific portals
- Balance Transactions: Ensure all transactions are balanced on a daily basis
- Resolve Errors: Identify and correct posting errors to maintain clean accounts
- Manage Claims: Proactively resolve ERA gaps and manage claims reconciliation
Relevant Experience & Skills Required
- Education Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing or a similar RCM role
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with medical billing software and EHR systems
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills for complex account reconciliation
- Data Entry: Exceptional speed and accuracy in data entry
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication abilities for explaining complex ideas
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated compensation for this role is $20.00 – $24.00/hr. based on experience.
