BallotReady, a startup committed to providing comprehensive information on U.S. government entities to voters nationwide, continues to recruit part-time work from home 2024 Elections Contract Researchers.
Recruiting is nationwide.
You’d be researching candidates’ backgrounds, details of current office holders, elections, elected positions and their responsibilities, etc.
This is a contract role that will run through January 17, 2025.
The hourly rate is $15-$17.50.
As this is an independent contractor position, there are no benefits such as health insurance or paid time off.

Per the listing, BallotReady is a young company focused on ensuring that American voters are well-informed about political races and elections. They develop nonpartisan digital voter guides and create tools to help advocacy groups and campaigns to mobilize voters.
Responsibilities of the 2024 Elections Contract Researchers:
As a Contract Researcher for the 2024 Elections, you’d be responsible for conducting in-depth research on topics such as:
- Elections spanning national to local levels, including special districts
- Candidates’ backgrounds, qualifications, incumbent status, and issue stances
- Elected positions and their responsibilities
- Details about current office holders, including their years in office
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Strong attention to detail, as the accuracy of your research is crucial
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
- Clear and proactive communication abilities
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and employing creative research methods
While not mandatory, proficiency in SQL, AWS, and/or GIS, experience with elections data or research, and familiarity with the FOIA process would be pluses.
Additional Responsibilities for Experienced Researchers:
Experienced researchers may be expected to:
- Experiment with novel data collection processes and provide feedback on new internal data tools
- Problem-solve existing research processes with the team
- Assist in creating training materials, mentoring new researchers, and enhancing team efficiency
Important Details:
- Hourly Rate: $15.00-$17.50
- Employment Commitment: Approximately 15-20 hours per week
- Equipment: You must have your own computer, internet access, and phone
- Employment Benefits: This is a contract role and does not include benefits such as health insurance or paid time off
- Application Deadline: Rolling basis, with a scheduled start date of January 15, 2024 (The site is still set up to take applications.)
- Contract End Date: January 17, 2025
