Position Spotlight: Customer Service Specialist

About the Role: Customer Service Specialists at AdaptHealth play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of services to patients. In this dynamic position, you’ll be immersed in a fast-paced environment, handling inbound and outbound calls. Your responsibilities will include obtaining, analyzing, and verifying information from referrals, creating orders, and scheduling patients to receive equipment as prescribed by their doctors. Moreover, you’ll have the chance to educate patients on their financial responsibilities when applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services.
  • Answer calls and emails promptly, adhering to set goals.
  • Document all call information following standard operating procedures.
  • Process orders, route calls, and follow up as necessary.
  • Review and process documentation and orders with accuracy.
  • Complete insurance verification and obtain pre-authorization when required.
  • Navigate multiple online EMR systems to gather necessary documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Meet quality assurance requirements and key performance metrics.
  • Handle customer complaints and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Pay attention to detail, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
  • Actively listen to patients, showing compassion and empathy.
  • Be flexible with work hours and tasks.

Competency, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective decision-making abilities.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and understand data flow through systems.
  • General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial health plan methodologies (preferred).
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Requirements:

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of work-related experience in healthcare administrative, financial, or insurance customer services, claims, billing, call center, or management.
  • Senior-level positions require two (2) years of work-related experience and one (1) year of exact job experience.
