A job board doesn’t have to be colossal to be valuable. In fact, industry-specific and niche job boards can help you find more relevant and targeted opportunities in your field of interest.

These industry-specific job boards specialize in one category or field. For example, government jobs, writing jobs, education jobs, creative jobs, jobs with nonprofit organizations, etc. All regularly include work from home jobs.

It’s time to put the Google “SITE:” searches into play again!

If you found an industry-specific site or sites on our list that includes your preferred field — or if you know of other sites that are a good fit — you’ll want to search them with “SITE: searches and set up Bookmarks and Google Alerts for them as well.

In this scenario, the job seeker is looking for a position as a Copy Editor. She’s decided to include MediaBistro.com in her search sites. Here are just a few of the searches she might use:
